An exciting roster of celebrity experts will be dishing up demonstrations,
decorating and design ideas plus offering advice about the latest tips
and trends at Toronto's Fall Home Show, October 3 to 6, in the Automotive
Building, Exhibition Place.
Many of the best-known personalities from Home & Garden Television
(HGTV) will be on hand, as well as artist/designer Jane Hall, The Voice
of Color. RONAs 'How-To' demonstrations and the Greater Toronto Home
Builders' Association 'Interview with a Renovator' sessions will provide
a wealth
of invaluable information on a wide spectrum of home improvement and
renovation issues.
HGTV's dynamic decorating duo, 'Designer Guys' Steven Sabados and Chris
Hyndman, will bring their sense of style and humourous approach to
the Fall Home Show. They believe in personal expression and their often
differing
tastes - Sabados likes elegance and pared-down looks, while Hyndman
enjoys injecting colour and fun - make for entertaining viewing on
Designer Guys.
Whether on television or in person, the Designer Guys guarantee to
offer up creative ideas and leave the audience chuckling in their seats.
TV's celebrity do-it-yourselfer, Peter Fallico of HGTV's 'Home. To
Go', will demonstrate how to handle simple home decor projects, one
for beginners,
another for more intermediate "Do-itYourselfers". Fallico
will also show what everyone should have in their toolbox to handle
common
repairs and to deal with small home emergencies. On Home to Go, Fallico and guest designers rejuvenate homes with practical
projects that can be packed and moved to a new house. He spent four
years as cohost on This Small Space, perfecting the combination of
ideas and
information.
Jason Cass, co-host of the popular 'One House, Two Looks' on HGTV,
will offer advice on how to get a decorating scheme started and how
to pull
a room together.
"Anything you ever wanted to know about colour, but
were afraid to ask? Jane Hall, who with partner Ian Levack, owns the European-style
design showroom, Jane Hall The Voice of Color on Toronto's trendy Danforth
Avenue, will help homeowners l overcome their fear of colour. Hall, a renowned
artist/designer and winner (with Levack) of the 2002 Cadillac Fairview
ARC Award for Achievement in new Retail Concepts, fearlessly mixes and
matches bold hues to create unforgettable home settings. Their motto could
be "any shade but beige."
" ' As well as featuring kitchen, window and door displays, RONA showcases
do-it-yourself projects at daily 'How-To' sessions. Prominent renovation
experts will answer even the most difficult questions on home mainte
nance, repairs and remodeling. They'll demonstrate how to install metal
studs, creatively use paint finishes, lay laminate flooring, install
ceramic tile and how to install interior recessed lighting.
The Greater Toronto Home Builders' Association returns with the perennially
popular 'Interview with a Renovator' sessions, where visitors can
book free 15 minute appointments with professional renovators to get their
questions on personal renovation projects answered.
With over 300 quality home related exhibitors, plus one on one consultation
with industry experts, the 2002 Toronto Fall Home Show provides visitors
with the ideas, inspiration and solutions to home decor, renovation
and design issues within an atmosphere which celebrates colour and
the rapidly
approaching holiday season.
